ESRANGE SPACE CENTER

KIRUNA, SWEDEN

Esrange, owned and operated by the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC), has been an active space center since 1966. It is currently utilized by the international scientific community for launching sounding rockets for microgravity and atmospheric research, as well as high-altitude balloons for astronomy, atmospheric studies, and drop tests of space and aerial vehicles.

Perigee has signed an agreement with SSC to conduct launch missions using Blue Whale 1, transporting small satellites manufactured in Europe into sun-synchronous orbit. Located at 67° latitude within the Arctic Circle, Esrange is ideally positioned for launches into polar and sun-synchronous orbits. Additionally, its low population density minimizes the need for major avoidance maneuvers, allowing for the efficient transportation of multiple payloads into orbit.

WHALERS WAY ORBIT LAUNCH COMPLEX

SLEAFORD, AUSTRALIA

The Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex supports direct ascent trajectories from 55 to 177 degrees including polar, sun-synchronous orbits and 135 degree (equivalent to 45 degree) inclination. The complex is located on the tip of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. It covers over 1600 Ha (almost 4000 acres) of open land with over 6 km (3.72 miles) of ocean frontage and supports direct ascent to orbit flight trajectories over the Great Australian Bight, maximizing spacecraft payload to orbit.

The Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex, located on the tip of South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, enables direct ascent trajectories from 55° to 177°, including polar, sun-synchronous, and 135° (45° equivalent) inclinations. Spanning 1,600 hectares with 6 km of ocean frontage, it provides direct flight paths over the Great Australian Bight, maximizing payload capacity to orbit.
