MINSOO YANG
Independent Director
Minsoo Yang entered the Korea Naval Academy as part of the 44th class, majoring in Naval Architecture, and later earned a master’s degree in Weapons Systems from the Korea National Defense University, followed by a Ph.D. in Military Science and Information Engineering from Kongju National University in 2022.
In the Navy, he served as the Commanding Officer of ROKS Sejong the Great, Commander of the 5th Component Flotilla, Chief of Policy, and Commander of the 7th Mobile Task Flotilla, demonstrating strategic leadership. He also contributed to strengthening national security and counter–WMD capabilities as the Director of Nuclear and WMD Response at the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In addition, he successfully led overseas deployment operations as the Commander of the 34th contingent of the Cheonghae Unit.
After his military career, he served as a research and development advisor at the Agency for Defense Development (Missile Research Institute), contributing to advancements in the defense industry. He is currently a professor in the Department of Defense and Space Engineering at Hanbat National University, fostering the next generation of defense and space experts.
He now serves as an Independent Director of Perigee Aerospace.
